MEET THE TEAM
Louisa Nordstrom (Skipper)
The sport of sailing has been a part of Louisa's life since she can remember. Born in Stockholm, Sweden and moving to Sarasota, Florida at age 3, the Nordstrom family would spend their summers cruising and living aboard a sailboat in the Swedish archipelago. Spending more time on the water than on land was commonplace for a member of the Nordstrom family, and square knots and bowlines have been part of Louisa's repertoire since she could walk. Now at age 24, Louisa has had quite an accomplished youth and college sailing career.
Starting in the Optimist class at the Venice Youth Boating Association at age 11, Louisa later moved on to sail the Laser Radial, 29er, and Club 420. At Yale University, she became a 4X All-American in college sailing and graduated with a B.S. in Cognitive Science with a focus on human behavior and decision making. Outside of sailing, Louisa is a passionate photographer and videographer with a strong interest in digital marketing.
Trevor Bornarth (Crew)
A renowned boat work enthusiast, Trevor has been handling a shammy and squeegee since the ripe age of 3. Coming from a strong line of sailors, Trevor has grown up on the water and in the boat shop. When he’s not sailing, Trevor can often be found splicing lines at his work bench, conveniently located in his bedroom.
Trevor was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL but learned how to sail Optimists at the Blackbeard Sailing Club in New Bern, NC where he was a founding member of the Edward Teach Youth Sailing Association. Later, Trevor brought his sailing talents back to Florida -- sailing out of the US Sailing Center in Stuart, Florida when he was 12. From there Trevor went on to sail both the C420 and I420, eventually becoming a national Champion, North American champion, and earning 2nd at the Youth Worlds in Sanya, China. Trevor is going on sailing the 470 for more than 4 years now, and intends to do many more together with Louisa. Outside of sailing, Trevor loves to stay active and is an enthusiastic cyclist and windsurfer. He is currently attending the University of Florida online, and intends to graduate with a degree in business.
